Virtual PC 2007

For those of you folks that want to run Vista without getting your hands wet, there is a new free alternative (legally free). From what I read the program is extremely efficient and should run Vista almost as good as if it was your only installed OS.

I tried ot use it but discovered it dosn't handle linux graphical desktop that well (not at all), and after doing to looking VMWare offers a version of their server for free, and so far works perfectly.

However VMware will not take advantage of the graphical Vista Desktop. If you want to take the best advantage of Vista under a virtual console, use Virtual PC 2007.
